I have a hard time believing that people who weren't alive when Chevy Chase (and any other 70s/early 80s SNL cast member) manned the Weekend Update desk actually find his/their performance all that funny.

Most older SNL doesn't hold up. Comedy, much more than drama, is prone to becoming dated. Especially crap like SNL that is so dependent on pop-socio-cultural commentary.
