My coworker, who has a family of 6, told me they are able to keep to a budget of $400/mo. i was really impressed, and a little embarrassed for myself.

I've gotten into a pretty cemented habit of the things I cook regularly, so it doesn't add up to a whole lot (mostly because I like cooking, but I have no creativity and fear change )

on average we spend 50-100 week on groceries depending on coupons. We blow too much eating out still though so at the end of the months its anywhere from 600-800.

Coupon clipping sounds like a great idea except for all the time lost clipping the things and driving to every Rite Aid and Krogers in the county only to buy some cheap processed shit food

ahahahahaha

We eat very well. We are always stocked up on pasta, soup, cereal, deli meats, breads etc

I won't pay for pasta ever (I stock up when its free, no need to pay for it). If I can get soup for less than $.50 a can, I am satisfied. For cereal, less than $.50/box is preferable. Breads...I try and pay less than $.90/loaf.

We save money on the pasta, cereal, breads etc so that we have extra money to spend on fresh meats, chicken, fresh vegetables etc

Post a month's worth of your grocery receipts and then I'll believe that you aren't eating dry pasta and old sausage every night

Usually spend about $500/month on groceries for two. On average spend about $200/month at restaurants/on-the-go type places.

We blew our grocery budget the other night at Trader Joe's

Spent $200

So we do tend to go out and buy groceries w/o coupons. I just try and supplement those trips w/ trips to Kroger to stock up on free pasta, cheap soup (Progresso) etc

Though, the $200 was mostly stuff to use for cooking Thanksgiving dinner. So that is a very rare trip for us.

My budget is $100 a month for myself, but it's more like $150 or even less a month when it's me and my girlfriend cooking together every meal. Probably because she keeps that shit in line.

The one truth about coupon people is that they all lie about how much they save doing it.

We will usually go to Costco once every 2-3 months and drop $300 on meat, and all the shit we use a lot of (tp, paper towels, detergents, etc etc.) Outside of that, we probably go to the grocery store about once a week and spend on average $50.

I have no idea, but...
A few years ago I decided to stop worrying about what food costs and focus solely on the quality (within reason). I rarely eat out, I don't buy any fast food, and I buy certain foods in bulk at Sam's Club; so I suspect my food bill isn't that much different than the average single male.

Breakfast this morning was three Egglands Best eggs + with a small piece of Mahi Mahi scrambled in with a glass of OJ and a glass of water. Lunch was boiled quinoa, a medium piece of Mahi Mahi, and a salad with Lipton diet green tea and water. I eat well. The Mahi Mahi was actually free and I need to get rid of it before it goes bad, but you get the picture.

Our food budget is $500/mo. for a family of 3 (this is misleading though because we spend +/-$100 of that on diapers/pullups)

We tend to err about $50 to $100 per month to the good vs. the budget.

I think last month we were over about $150 because we threw a Halloween party.

I really don't know or care. I also try to focus on what I'm eating, not so much on the cost. I try not to spend too much money, but I'm not going to buy lay's chips because they're cheaper than fresh veggies.

But, I'm also a single guy making a pretty decent salary, so it's a bit different.
