despite what you thought i'm not gonna post any.

I think evan posted a Captcha beater one time. Someone else (maybe evan) posted a thing that skips those sites that make you wait 45 seconds for a file like rapidshare.

Anyone got links to those or know what they are called?

This has been an AstralAdvent presentation.

Then again i'm not 100% sure they're firefox only.

If chrome can auto solve captchas and skip download wait times i'll switch to it right now, i think my main problem with it was how much extra ram each additional added

I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

What you're talking about are called "extensions"; plugins are things like Flash, Java, QuickTime, and Adobe Reader that handle media types not natively handled by the browser, and they've been available since Netscape 2.

Anyway the extension that beats waiting times is called SkipScreen, and it is only for Firefox, although Chrome and IE versions have been proposed: https://skipscreen.com/blog/2010/02/taking-bids-for-ie-and-chrome-versions-of-skipscreen/

[Edited on November 24, 2010 at 1:58 PM. Reason : also the self-hosted (as opposed to AMO) version does skip CAPTCHAs
