Dell Inspiron Windows Vista
for my roomate....runs fine in safe mode, just did a virus scan to see if it was that but not sure thats the problem.
computer starts up and then after about 30 seconds reboots and goes into recovery mode and ask for normal startup, safe mode, etc.
any ideas?
it gives a code for minidump files or something like that when stating the "problem"
thanks guys. 11/29/2010 3:32:48 PM |

boot into safe mode
start>run
type MSCONFIG
go to the "startup" tab
uncheck everything.
apply changes
restart into normal mode.
[Edited on November 29, 2010 at 4:23 PM. Reason : its probably some antivirus software or something on startup causing problems.] 11/29/2010 4:22:54 PM |

What does the BSOD say?
If you're not seeing the message, do this:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsvista/ht/arestartvista.htm
and disable the automatic restart after system failure.
Usually, the BSOD is actually helpful at pointing you in the right direction as to where the problem is. 11/29/2010 7:27:09 PM |
