If you live in 4G coverage area, I recommend the Sprint EVO or Epic. I have the Epic and it has changed my life. I barely even turn on my computer anymore. Plus unlimited everything costs me $80 a month after all taxes and fees.

Mainly because AT&T blows. But when Verizon gets it, it will be much better. Especially if they offer it LTE, which won't be in the near future.

That being said, like all things Verizon, I am sure the monthly cost will be outrageous.

verizon is pricey, but their coverage area beats the hell out of sprint. sprint is fine if you don't go out in the sticks often.

^^ call them and ask for an Airvana. I couldn't get Sprint at my house either, and they sent me one for free. It runs over the internet. I have full signal now.

Neither, the Droid is ancient right now. There are much newer Android devices with better hardware and more features.

My only issue with Sprint was that I couldn't get signal at home. They took care of that for me, so I have no complaints.

I will agree with NRR though, when I go to my GF's parents house up in the mountains, Verizon has it on lockdown. They are pretty much the only phone that will work up there. Doesn't bother me though, because it is nice to turn my phone off for a few days.

I've had both the 3GS, and now (after that one ended up in a urinal), the iPhone 4. The phones have both been great (I haven't noticed a monumental leap between the two), but I love the phone itself.

AT&T = Granted, I haven't traveled around much with it, but I've had a lot of problems getting signal in my own house.

My roommate has a droid, and definitely loves it. I'd probably say the best thing to do is go to a store and mess with both for a little while without a sales person chirping in your ear. Try out some of the things you do the most, like typing out texts, or browsing the internet, looking at apps, etc. Then I'd go with your gut on which one you like more.

What you DON'T want to do is buy a Droid from Verizon now, then not be eligible for an upgrade when they release the LTE phones. If you are thinking about making a switch to Verizon for a Droid, I would wait.

But then depending on where you are, you may not have LTE yet when they're released. Currently it's going to be available in Charlotte. Raleigh may get it sometime next year but won't cover the entire 3G map until 2013. If your current phone is crap, I say spend the extra money for a 1 yr contract or just use an annual upgrade if you already pay >49.99/month for voice.
