The old Wendy's fries were pretty good when done right, and I preferred them over McDonald's. But when they were bad, they were really bad.

The problem was that compared to McD's, Wendy's fries were dangerously inconsistent, even from the same Wendy's and even from a Wendy's that I otherwise considered above-average.

i liked the old fries a LOT. way more than mcdonalds. i like fries to have some potato in them. shoestring fries (like mcd) just don't do it for me. i REALLY like steak fries.

anyway, i liked the soggy, low salt fries. the new fries taste like ass & have wayyyyyyy too much salt for my liking.

I like a crispy fry, but I also love me a waffle fry or a Bojo's fry.

You know what the #1 problem with a waffle fry is? Coldness. With so much surface area and the gaps, they just don't hold any heat. It's rare that I get to the end of a Chik-Fil-A waffle fry container without the last few being straight up cold.

i didn't mind the old wendy's fries, especially if they were hot and super salty. i'd say the new fries are a moderate improvement but nothing to make or break the deal. however, on a relate note wendy's new poofy super dry buns are step in the wrong direction and may potentially be a major deal breaker.

you really can't compare McDs and wendy's to chic-fil-a. Chic-fil-a runs a tight ship in terms of both QA and CS.

I'm pretty sure McDonalds doesn't sell fries. They sell newspaper pulp that they fry in beef tallow. They also usually make sure they have a 1:1 newspaper:salt ratio.

All Wendy's in the Triangle area have had the new fries for months now (we were a test location)

Some days they are good. Some days they are so overly-salted you can't even eat them.

If they get the salt ratio down, I'm sure they will be good.
