My prof is giving a select demographic (seniors) within his class the option of exempting ourselves from the final. As it stands now, if I were to exempt myself, I would get a B+ in the class. If I take the final I could easily get an A-, maybe even an A.

Option A: Don't take final; keep current grade.
Estimated GPA: 3.608
Reasons why: Less exams; more free time Besides, I already have a job lined up.
Reasons why not: A little bit lower GPA. Law school/MBA is in the future plans so I can't just let my GPA go to hell, but I will be working a few years before I head back into academia.

Option B: Take the final.
Estimated GPA: 3.618 (maybe 3.628 with an A)
Reasons why: Higher GPA; it's just one exam; I should get an A in a class like this.
Reasons why not: Due to the structure of the exam, I'd have to prepare for 20 (read: twenty) different essay questions. I'd have to study next weekend for two exams instead of one.

an A is an A and looks better than a B regardless of your overall GPA, especially when these are you senior semester grades, which are supposed to be your best or at least show commitment to. don't be a lazy asshole and take the exam and do your best. you've gone this far
