I've gotten 3 tickets in Cary w/ a V1.

tickets are a bitch in Mass. They count six years of history and everything counts, even 9 overs. i got fucked moving to Mass w/ my NC record which was fine there. a few 9 overs throughout the years. now they all count

^^I just passed an unmarked expedition that didn't have laser or radar. He just estimated my speed (correctly...) .

No V1 will help there ...but I still swear by it in situations that it works.

^I still have NC license. This will suck when I transfer to MA

^^^Any good lawyer should be able to get that one thrown out for you. Hell, you might be able to do it yourself unless this guy's really good. Just have the guy estimate the speed of a pencil you drop in front of him and use physics to calculate its actual speed. If the percent error is large enough, you create reasonable doubt.

Cops don't go to school to estimate the speed of small falling objects.
They go to school to estimate the speed of large moving objects on the highway.
And considering that "trick" has been around longer than you've been on this earth I wouldn't be surprised if the cop said exactly how fast the pencil was moving at the time of impact and made you look like an idiot for trying it.

"Carzin you are a tard. Seriously.

Like I said earlier you have to be smart about it when and where you speed. Of course I don’t drive 110mph when there is traffic or if there is a lot of traffic in middle lane that can potentially switch to left lane. I don’t weave in and out of traffic. I certainly don’t drive 40 over in school zones.
Also, I am willing to bet you are far less safe (for you and surrounding) going 20 over in civic or me going 40 over in M3/M5."

97 in a 65 is a bit much, you definitely need to hire a lawyer for that one.

Also, we don't need a ticket thread in every freaking forum. There's already at least one in The Lounge.

Quote :

Then don't transfer it. Keep it in NC. I lived in NYC for 3 years and never transferred my insurance or registration.

^^It's an estimation. Any good lawyer should be able to get it thrown out. I've had friends get theirs thrown out because the cop didn't "tune" their gun properly, let alone "estimate" someone's speed.

If you really want to speed though, become a cop. My friend goes 100+ all the time in his 550 without a radar detector. He's also in the Army and a police officer. Whenever he's pulled over, the first thing he says is "I have guns in the vehicle." When they ask him why, or look alarmed, he says "It's okay though, I'm a cop." They ask him for his ID, and then wave him on. Can't be that dangerous if it's okay for off-duty cops to do it.

EDIT:
Might as well post this in here, since the other threads are >90 days old:

I got a ticket for expired safety and registration. I've taken care of it and my court date is in a few days. Questions:

1. Do I wait till they call my name to speak to the ADA, or are they available before all that starts?
2. How much time should I allot for it? It starts at 8am.
3. Also, where to park?

^I got tagged for that last year. Just show up a few hours early. Park on the pay lot on Davie Street (in between McDowell and Dawson). Go to the traffic court floor and get in line to talk to the ADA. You don't have to wait for them to call your name just wait in line. Then go up and show them proof of renewed registration and inspection and the ADA will dismiss it immediately. You won't even have to ask him to dismiss it.

I was there less than 90 minutes.

I just found out that some chick got a ticket with my NCDL that was stolen (with my wallet) in the LKQ parking lot back in May. Thank goodness for all those attorney advertisements going to my mom's house, otherwise I never would have known as I have been living in FL since June. Pretty pissed that it occurred though, seeing as my ID should have been flagged as stolen when I reported it, along with the other wallet contents, to the Wake Cty Sheriff's dept. The car she was driving also had bad tags and registration. HOW MANY FLAGS ARE NECESSARY TO MAKE A COP SUSPICIOUS?!?! /rant

He wasnt pulling anyone over for 79 or 80 in a 70... but on what has to be the bumpiest, shittiest concrete highway known to man, while going downhilll in a 7000lb truck with 8000lbs behind it, I hit 82- I get cited for reckless driving. We were on the shoulder for 5 minutes at the most, it was like he had it all filled out ahead of time he just needed a name. On the ticket it has a number to call, and states they accept credit cards. Called the number and a prerecorded statment reads the fines based on your speed in 1 mph increments. $206 for bouncing on a shitty road.

so this dick cop in my neighborhood wrote me a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. i was parked there for like 20 minutes, literally went inside and when came back out there it was on my car, an actual citation (like the kind you get for a speeding ticket) with a court date and everything.

there's no fine on the ticket, if i plead guilty do i get points? i really don't think this warrants calling a lawyer...what do i gotta do to get this shit reduced or thrown away?

first...are you really saying the cop was a dick because you knowingly and willfully parked in a place you knew you were not supposed to park, simply because you're lazy? furthermore, you'd have more of a case (in my mind) if you left the car on and were gone for 20 seconds, not turned it off and disappeared for 20 minutes

second...i thought that points were only applied for moving violations...in any case, call up your insurance company and ask them without giving them your policy number or name

i think non-moving gets points too. my concern here is that if i show up to court, I have no idea what to ask the judge for. i usually got my boy James Crouch to help me out, but unfortunately he's got problems of his own now.

Got hit for an expired registration from a state trooper on hwy 64. (she was nice, i was clocked at 73 in a 55)

question: (sister's car) already had been inspected. registration is now paid off. Do I actually have to go into the court for the court date or can I call the DA and have the ticket dropped? thanks in advance tww.

Oh that lady in the minivan is illegally taking a handicapped spot like she does every night? nah i'm not going to ticket her, but oh look the young guy who drives the japanese rice rocket with gold wheels is doin it? yeaaaah, i'll get him". i mean, he was gone by the time i came back out, like a fucking ninja. all within the time it takes for me to go inside, masturbate, and come back out.

I'm only speaking for myself here, but if I am speeding I accept the consequences of if I get caught. And if I am speeding and am caught, I don't try to blame it on an LEO for being a dick.

So yes, I am diggin' into an illegal parker's ass because he's trying to justify how it was okay. Fuck that shit. Own up to the fact you got busted. Don't be a whiney pussy ass biotch.

I bitch about people getting pulled for speeding because there are far more dangerous driving infractions done daily by the multitudes that largely go unpunished and most of the time aren't even enforced.

-extreme tailgating
-driving in the rain with no headlights/taillights
-2 or all 3 brake lights not functioning.
-failure to signal

and yet speeders are always the bad guys

I realize its breaking the law and has repercussions for getting caught but the whole "its for safety" line is complete bullshit.

Yeah, they are ridiculous. That alone is reason enough that I would never live in VA. No exaggeration...if I got a job in DC or something, I wouldn't even need to look into living in MD vs VA--there is no way I'd live in VA.

What are you paying the lawyer for? Could be that you'll get a 9 over reduction, or an excessive speed penalty. 17 over is pretty bad, but at least it was clocked at <55mph.

Was it around Emporia? I drove through VA on I-95 Monday evening and the cops were out in force, every-fucking-where So I maintained only 10-11 over, and only 5-6 over when driving near Emporia.

I've heard from friends who live in Colonial Heights that the cops around Emporia will pull you for 5-9 MPH over. All of VA's major highways are pretty strict from what I've seen, although Emporia is even more notable than most areas. I always pass countless cops on 220 every time I drive to Snowshoe.

Since I'm determined to fix the s2000 myself, it's taking forever. I walked into the courtroom with my boss to ask for a continuance to give me time to finish fixing it...DA sees my boss, waives us over, dismisses the ticket without me even fixing it and I'm out in less than 5 minutes.

ran off the road and down an embankment.
got charged with gs 20-141(a) operating a vehicle at a speed greater than was reasonable and prudent under the conditions then existing, to wit rain, sleet, fog, snow, etc...)

i guess i get the etc... because it was sunny out. The trooper told me I wasn't exceeding the the posted limit but he had to charge me with something. There was no property damage or other vehicles involved.

should i get a lawyer for this?
