i know this makes a lot of people really annoyed, but i don't see the big deal. i must not spend enough of my life at the drive-thru to have strong feelings.

I could understand for a big order but a lot of the times I would have only needed to be at the window for 1 minute and it would be ready

i hate when people back up into your vehicle at the drive thru and then take out guns and shoot at you. Then zombies come out of the McDonalds and you have to get out your axe and stop them from getting into your car.

Yeah, I'm getting rather miserly lately.

And I am sort of fine with it.

there's an Arby's on Capital (by TTC) where you have to pull forward regardless of what you order

even if no one is behind you

ITT:

fat people who are not only too lazy to go into the restaurant to retrieve their food, but also too lazy to lay off the brake pedal for a few seconds partially due to an unwillingness to prevent a fast food traffic jam

drive thru gets priority over people standing inside waiting, so why go in unless the drive thru line is long as hell (i.e. chick fil a during lunch hours)

I pulled forward one time at the Hardees on Avent Ferry when I'd ordered a bacon-egg-cheese biscuit and a diet coke. I pulled forward and waited for at least 10 minutes, and then the lady came out with this gigantic bag of stuff filled to the top. When I got to the office, I found that the thing contained two sausage and gravy platters, 4 sausage biscuits, a steak-egg biscuit, and some sort of chicken biscuit. Unfortunately, no bacon-egg-cheese biscuit.

I pulled forward a second time after ordering a chicken sandwich and a drink, pulled forward, waited 15 minutes, and finally went in the store only to find out that they weren't even making the food for me or the other person in line that pulled up beside me.

Now, I'll refuse to pull forward and tell them that they can substitute an item if it's only one thing they're waiting on.

if they ask me too, yes. i won't sit there longer than 5 mins or so before going in though. i don't go through a lot of drive thrus so it doesn't really bother me if they ask me to. i'd like for the person ahead of me to do the same.

What is this "pull foward" business?

I go up to the mic, order my food, then I go to the pickup/pay window. If it's a pay window that's next, I give them my card, and then I move to the next window. At the pickup window, I pay (if I haven't done that already) and I get my food. I put it on the passenger seat or I give it to the person in the passenger seat, and I leave immediately.

Does everyone not do this, or are we talking about when we have to wait for them to make the food, so it's Bojangles and they're out of chicken?

If so, yeah, I'll pull "foward."

[Edited on December 5, 2010 at 5:21 PM. Reason : ncstateccc, you misspelled "forward."]

^^I'm not complaining about that one. I made a bunch of coworkers happy by bringing them breakfast, and I still got a couple of biscuits for myself. I'm just amazed they couldn't make what I would consider the most common breakfast biscuit.

It's never about the guy behind you, it's about skewing your drive-thru timer average so you look better reporting to management

Hardees is notorious about it because they cook your burger at order time so it usually takes longer than most other fast food

Every time I have been asked to pull forward and have politely declined them I had my food in LESS THAN 10 seconds.

I got told to pull forward and park in a "pull forward" parking spot once and they would bring my food out. I told him if I wanted to park I would have gone inside. He laughed and I had my food in 10 seconds.

Its like having people try to check your receipts at big box stores or ppl telling you to stop cause a computer beeps at you as you walk out the door. Fuck them, just keep going.

I don't eat at fast food places nearly as much as I used to, but when I do and they ask I don't mind...secretly I hope it is bc they are making me hot French fries...and hot French fries are worth the wait IMO
