LOL! I love how they're in 1 episode just to die. They give them a quick little backstory, and maybe even enough that lets the audience feel sorry for their death. But LOL! I love it when they put some effort into their death.

I believe "disposable characters" are referred to as "ancillary characters" in film-making. or any character that has little to do with the story, but does not not necessarily have to die

If TWW were a tv show, merbig would have been written off after the first episode.
And it wouldn't even have been him moving away, or dying or anything. The other characters would just stop talking about him.... like Judy in Family Matters.
