win7 snaps windows. Drag one toward the left or right side of the screen and it will fill that half of the screen. Or you can drag the corner of a window to the top or bottom and it will resize to full height in the same position and width.

I knew about both of those, but I want defined sections that I can choose the size of... Not just 1/2 and 1/2 12/13/2010 4:08:42 AM |

You know, I was just thinking about this last night because I recently switched from dual 19s to a single 24. My motivation for doing it was because I don't use my machine for much of anything anymore, certainly not coding or anything needing multiple monitors...except for last night I was doing something that could use it and was thinking to myself "this manually resizing of windows kind of sucks". 12/13/2010 6:58:19 AM |

Yeah, I switched to a single 27 and that's when I thought of it too. I would like a predefined area to "drop" video into if I am streaming a game, another to drop outlook into, etc. 12/13/2010 11:42:29 AM |

Partition Magic or Symantec Ghost work pretty well
if you have a linux live CD you can boot and use gparted or the built in partitioner 12/13/2010 5:53:19 PM |

Jaybee, if you find a solution to this, lemme know. I've wanted something like this for my 27" monitor for a couple of years now, but never was bothered enough by the lack of it to look. 12/13/2010 6:59:26 PM |

What I really want is "infinite" dimension desktop, where I can smoothly zoom in and out of the desktop. Think ctrl+mouse wheel in Photoshop
