i feel like in a place like that, they will be more expensive than at AMF lanesWESTERN LANES FOREVER!!!
12/16/2010 11:40:33 AM
12/16/2010 11:40:48 AM
I'm not going to any bowling place that is a boutique.
12/16/2010 11:45:10 AM
i'm too concerned about my score to bowl their
12/16/2010 11:46:47 AM
Yeah this would be a cool concept if they weren't trying to completely rip you off on the lane rental.
12/16/2010 11:50:14 AM
look people, i don't think we're their target demographic...
12/16/2010 11:55:38 AM
12/16/2010 11:56:32 AM
^^ True
12/16/2010 11:57:05 AM
I could see going there for date night... go have dinner, a couple drinks, bowl a game, and have another couple of drinksthe menu looks good, and the prices seem pretty reasonable.
12/16/2010 11:58:57 AM
This intrigues me.. If I ever have a date I might look in to it... Where in North Hills it? Teeter side?
12/16/2010 12:06:29 PM
Do people actually call that area "midtown" or did they give up on that?
12/16/2010 12:09:03 PM
I believe they call it North Hills
12/16/2010 12:09:46 PM
What if you have your own shoes?
12/16/2010 12:11:51 PM
A bowling alley using whole dollar values and .5's on their menu?To me that sounds a wee bit pretentious to me
12/16/2010 12:13:38 PM
^^^ They must call you "genius".
12/16/2010 12:14:38 PM
12/16/2010 12:15:12 PM
^^must call you "smart ass"
12/16/2010 12:16:18 PM
the place is awesome... i went there for their soft opening (see bowling with Russell Wilson) the food was awesome the beer selection was awesome the walk up area to the lane's (we were at a private bowling suite) was short but i don't know if that is the same for all lanes or just the private ones. They ran out of size 13 shoes so either there were a lot of big footed people there or some of you 11s were snagging big boy shoes to impress the ladies. The tables near the bar had a touch screen in them and you could hook up your own music to the table's stereo, you could also download/upload pictures onto the screen and play the $1 bar games for free on them too. Really its somewhat expensive for bowling but its also a really awesome place and completely worth it. We were served some Hors d'œuvres that were fillet Mignon on crackers with Gorgonzola cheese they were awesome!
12/16/2010 12:20:02 PM
how does it compare with Strike City in charlotte
12/16/2010 12:20:54 PM
12/16/2010 12:21:55 PM
i had my own shoes for a whilei was the talk of the alley
12/16/2010 12:22:48 PM
i had them when I was a kid and did a league with my dad... but I grew out of those, and haven't really gotten back into bowling since. My dad gave me a ball, I just need to have the finger holes re-drilled (they can do that, right?)- and I remember shoes being only like 35 bucks[Edited on December 16, 2010 at 12:24 PM. Reason : j]
12/16/2010 12:24:08 PM
i got my shoes from KMart for like $20 back then (yr 2000ish?)
12/16/2010 12:25:13 PM
12/16/2010 12:25:36 PM
is that legal, as in ncaa legal
12/16/2010 12:26:18 PM
^^^^ They should be able to.I have bowling shoes that look like nursing shoes [Edited on December 16, 2010 at 12:27 PM. Reason : s]
12/16/2010 12:27:05 PM
OMG what a terrible idea. a bistro should not have crashing blowing balls in the back ground. a bowling alley should be old, smoky and smell of musk.
12/16/2010 12:28:06 PM
mine were brunswick brand, and looked like black nurses shoes... but they were comfy and didn't look as silly as the split colors that most lanes use
12/16/2010 12:28:31 PM
$10 to bowl one game and get shoes and $8 a game after is highway robbery. AMF at Crossroads is $5 all you can bowl after 10pm on Tuesdays, that's where I go every week. not trying to drop $40+ to bowl three rounds and drink
12/16/2010 12:29:51 PM
This thread makes me want to go bowling but not anywhere that's $14/game.
12/16/2010 12:32:20 PM
that's why i took PE243 by freshman year, free bowling twice a week!
12/16/2010 12:35:29 PM
^^^agreed.
12/16/2010 12:37:55 PM
^^ lol. It wasn't really free cause you had to pay like $50 bucks or so in the beginning.
12/16/2010 12:42:31 PM
it is still a helluva deal (especially with the free parking downstairs)
12/16/2010 12:43:40 PM
12/16/2010 12:44:14 PM
okusing the term "super rich wolfpack club members" and "they brought him" gave me the wrong idea
12/16/2010 12:45:42 PM
It was an event for anyone who lives in that building, there are some million dollar condos in that building and those people were from one. Our friends that took us were quite wealthy themselves.
12/16/2010 12:48:03 PM
12/16/2010 1:06:03 PM
In this thread, sumfoo1 mentions his wealthy friends.
12/16/2010 1:17:13 PM
12/16/2010 1:29:37 PM
This is yuppified bowling at it's worst.
12/16/2010 1:32:44 PM
12/16/2010 1:32:47 PM
i think it sounds nice. i'd check it out sometime. obviously not the place to go if you're just looking to bowl but it looks like it would be good spot for a fun night out!
12/16/2010 2:53:56 PM
^^ haha I was thinking something similar.
12/16/2010 2:54:53 PM
so your saying i need to take my bowling skills up there to hustle these rich people out of their money.
12/16/2010 3:15:58 PM
Lol I don't like snoody people it's just an affluent building I get uncomfortable there. And who really cares I'm just an Internet liar anyway.
12/16/2010 3:19:30 PM
yes, b/c when my hands are covered in bowling ball grime, i want finger foods.
12/16/2010 3:43:40 PM
srsly, what kind of bowling alley serves food?
12/16/2010 3:48:44 PM
my douche bag azz might be there!
