750,000 would get you up to what you can get for $600/month in Raleigh.

sans boston of course

Raleigh.

If I had to pick somewhere out of state, probably Denver.

no but we spent the weekend up there hanging out with MrsCake/omgyouresexy and family and I just fell in love with that area. We will NEVER be able to live there.

I'd want to live in Greenwich Village or the UES of Manhattan, but to live the way I'd want to live in that city I'd probably have to make around $300k so that'll never happen

I like living in Raleigh (though IMO the winters are too mild and the summers way too hot) and an ideal living situation here would probably be a 2 bedroom condo downtown with a private garage for my car.

then in HS I moved over off of carmel road to be closer to my school

at or near the beach...on the water with a pier, an acre or more of land (even if it's mostly wooded), and on/near an airstrip.

The triangle is good for now, and perhaps long term depending on how the job situation works out.

But I agree with punchmonk that the area is easy to fall in love with. A few snowy pics I took there:

The tall building on the right side of the second pic is where I took the first picture from.
