I found myself, on 3 different occasions, mentioning how turrible the pizza at CiCi's, Domino's, and Showbiz Pizza is/was yesterday.

Therefore, we must now determine who really makes the worst pizza.

I believe that it's CiCi's because not only is it cheap and nasty, you also have to eat it next to 300 pound slobs who think it's a fun game to see who can eat 3 pizzas the fastest and get the most on their shirt.

At least Showbiz, with its shitty pizza, had those cool fucking robots.

Domino's is not bad anymore... in fact, I think it is the best of the major delivery chains, at least here in raleigh (but like I mentioned in another thread, it varies store to store, market to market)

Cici's isn't anything great, but I wouldn't call it terrible (if you get some of their specialty pizzas at least)- but you are getting what you pay for... all you can eat for 5 bucks? what the hell else do you expect? As for Showbiz- I haven't been there since they closed the one on 51 in Charlotte (when I was a wee lad).

Cici's is the worst without a doubt. only like 1/3 of it is actually pizza. The rest of it is just a great expanse of "sauce" and "crust" that even the slobs don't eat. It's distressing to me how many piles of these crusts are everywhere. Cici's is a shithole to which I will never return and am hesitant to admit that I've been to even once.

cici's definitely varies store to store... I'll go to the one in Cary and there is one other one in Charlotte I would go to (don't know anymore, as I haven't been there in 8 years). But I won't go to any of the other ones

^^^^After Domino's changed their recipe the pizza experts (Bryan and myself) checked it out. And after eating it our opinion was that it still sucked. As far as delivery chains go, Papa Johns > Pizza Hut >> Dominos.

Literally everyone else I've talked to in person (and not internet troll/haters) has said that they think Dominos has gotten worlds better, and that it is one of the best in raleigh. Papa johns, at least the one by campus, doesn't cook their pizza's all the way, so the cheese is always "crumbly" and not fully melted (if that makes any sense) and that right there immediately eliminates them from the contest. Back in Charlotte, though, PJ's is definitely the best delivery available. Hence why i said it varies market to market. Also, you will never hear me say that a pizza company that sprays grease onto their pizzas is better than another (*ahem* pizza hut *ahem*)

Or as we used to call it, Village Inn Pizza of the Damned.

It wasn't horrible, but lord it wasn't good. This is one that falls into the same category of CiCi's...a shitload of really mediocre pizza on a buffet, etc, for a handful of pocket change. You can't knock it; mass quantities of ersatz nutrition for diddly squat. For when you are stoned or drunk out of your mind, or maybe if you've been homeless and starving...like a hard-on in church, you just can't beat it.

haha both my dad and my gf's dad both talk about this place when it was on western, and I think the gf even has mentioned going there before. But she is from hickory, and they still have them there, so she might be confusing that one with one from back home (Hickory/tailorsville are right around where they first came out- they are mostly a western nc thing)

I don't remember the name of the place, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a chain, but there was a pizza buffet restaurant back in the day in RTP that had the WORST. PIZZA. EVER. Eating a newspaper covered in cheese and sauce would have been a more pleasurable experience than that place. I never understood why my boss liked that place

I agree their pizza has gotten a lot better, but I still don't like it. We ordered two of their specialty pizzas a couple weeks ago when they were running a special and I felt like they went overkill on the toppings, gussying up the crust, etc. I'll still with Papa Johns for my chain delivery pizza needs.

Some of my fondest memories in college involved getting completely shitfaced at Pantana's or Cantina or East Village or the Comet (or all of them in one night) and then going and ordering a large pepperoni pizza at Gumby's by myself. I'd sit under the awning at whatever store was next door on a hot summer night and eat it...and occasionally sell a slice to passers-by for a buck. Good times. I recently ate at Gumby's in the new location, and it was good, but not the same kind of good from the drunken nights of yore. Or maybe there's less roach shit on the pizza now.
