I really miss the Chinese places I used to go to. Every Chinese restaurant in Japan has at least 8 different types of fried rice on their menu. My favorite was alway the garlic fried rice. Tawainese-style fried rice was a close second. I also miss the mabo tofu they all have there

this is basically the "Best General Tso's in Raleigh?" thread all over again but whatever
1) David's Dumplings (haven't actually eaten there yet, but David Mao's other restaurants were A+ - Mandarin House and Duck and Dumpling) 2) PF Chang's 3) Neo-China 4) Jade Garden 5) Beansprout
I've heard great things about Five-Star as well...
oh and PS as somebody whose actually been to China, none of these restaurants are "authentic" in any way, shape, or form. The last place I ate at what I'd consider to be authentic was in Europe but some of my Chinese friends have mentioned that the Grand Asia Market sometimes has dim-sum and other traditional meals

they are really good at what they do 1/19/2011 1:30:28 PM |

^Yeah, but you can find them anywhere, and everyone already knows them / has an opinion on them. People want to hear about non-chains because that's going to be new and different to them. 1/19/2011 1:39:55 PM |

i like neo china
peking garden is pretty good too
both of those are kinda the family style way with the GIANT portions that you can definitely share between 2 people. so its fun to get 2-3 different things with a group.
i haven't tried neo china's other asian food yet though.
heard great things about 5 star but haven't eaten there yet...def want to!!
i will admit i love the lettuce wraps at pf changs. i think it is the sauce that kills it for me
oh and i am a fan of david's dumpling and noodle. wasn't a fan of the pho (i mean it just wasn't as delicious as some other places/real vietnam haha). but everything else there i've found delicious.

Fortune Palace on Capital... Looks unappealing from the outside, but the food is good stuff. They have an "authentic" section of the menu, but if you're used to take out chinese food, I recommend you stick with the usual stuff. 1/19/2011 4:50:14 PM |

If you're referring to the Crispy Sesame Beef that's my favorite thing on the menu. General's chicken is a close second. Literally every plate I've had there has been excellent though.1/19/2011 5:23:56 PM |

i like neo china slightly better though, but peking garden is the noms.
