Didn't see a thread on this for this years.
I was going to register but it looks like it's full

Any idea on how to prep for something like this? I've ran the loop at wrightsville beach twice in one session but thats like 1.2 miles or something. I couldn't imagine trying to run total of 4 miles with doughnuts in-between.1/20/2011 8:17:36 AM |

I posted about it being full in the running thread yesterday. I was all pumped about this too.
Quote : | "According to wikipedia, they hit some physical barriers at about 6000 people in the last couple years. I ran in 2008, there were 3000 people, and I thought it was a clusterfuck then. Took about 5 minutes to get donuts." |
Beyond running, you can treat it like an eating contest:
Quote : | "Many professional competitive eaters undergo rigorous personal training in order to increase their stomach capacity, speed and efficiency with various foods. Stomach elasticity is usually considered the key to eating success, and competitors commonly train by drinking large amounts of water over a short time to stretch out the stomach. Others combine the consumption of water with large quantities of low calorie foods such as vegetables or salads. Some eaters chew large amounts of gum in order to build jaw strength." |

I tried that basically: a shitton of water and cabbage. Then I skipped breakfast the day of and drank only moderate water. It must of worked. I got down all 12 and didn't throw up.1/20/2011 9:04:39 AM |

I don't think eating a dozen KK doughnuts would be a problem... i'm not saying i'd enjoy the last few, but i don't see how it would make you full. 1/20/2011 12:33:03 PM |

Tell that to all the people who throw up.
Also, keep in mind that it's 2400 calories. Most 2400 calorie meals fill me up.

i'm not saying it wouldn't make you feel like shit with all the sugar and fat... but kk doughnuts aren't really that 'heavy' on the stomach compared to other foods. 1/20/2011 12:51:52 PM |
