the BlakLung - once or twice every time i take a spin... it's like pulling the pin on a grenade. floor it, count to 3, and listen for the explosion of smoke and squealing tires
civic - no use trying
dakota - maybe once every 50 miles just for the hell of it 1/24/2011 9:18:01 PM |

In the Lincoln ls v8, every other drive, if I can come up with a reason to pretend I'm in a rush to get somewhere, but not for very long bc it is too easy to cruise over the speed limit... In the miata, pretty much every drive. So much fun, not much risk of getting up to speeding too quickly. My wife's (fwd) cx-7... Only to demonstrate the hilarity of turbo-lag torque-steer to a passenger. 1/24/2011 9:47:43 PM |

my truck is sort of like my scooter, it only has two throtttle positions - closed and wide open, up until it gets up to the speed limit. So I have to floor it literally five times per each stoplight. 1/24/2011 10:08:04 PM |

Once every couple weeks.
Sometimes when my diabetes/other issues are conflicting with one another and I just want to make sure that I'm actually not going to die when I pull out into traffic.
The jeep 4.0L isn't quite outputting the same amount of power it used to put out. I probably have some maintenance I'm forgetting to do. 1/24/2011 10:50:04 PM |

OK, honestly this really depends on the power/weight ratio of the vehicle as well as it's dynamics. But if it's a manual transmission and has under 400hp, chances are I'm on the floor and to w/in 200rpm of redline several times a minute in "city" driving. There's really nothing wrong w/that, except for the horrible gas mileage you'll get. 1/24/2011 11:36:51 PM |

I don't think I've had the pedal in my 02 Jeep on the floor...ever? When your high school car is a 67 Chevelle that always has something wrong with it (partly due to having the go pedal on the floor) you kinda get tired of having the shit broken and in the shop. 1/25/2011 7:18:29 AM |

I floor it at least once every drive, even if it is just to get to speed.
Yesterday I felt a vibration, doing 90 on the on ramp, so later I floored it in 4th up to 130 to see if the vibration was still there. It wasn't, must have been the road. 1/25/2011 9:38:40 AM |

In the Corolla I need to do so for some passing maneuvers. So i'd say at least a few times per week.
In the Q45 I might get on it hard a few times per month just to keep carbon from building up and because I enjoy the flat torque curve of a DOHC v8. It has plenty of passing power and usually doesn't need this kind of manuever.
In the Rx-7 I try to floor it at least three times whenever I drive it. It's a waste of the car to do anything otherwise. When it's cold out like this I am less inclined to drop the hammer because of concerns about wheelspin. 1/25/2011 1:58:52 PM |
