this in a conference room above a projection screen. there's an overhead (like elementary school style) in the room. no other equipment. it looks like it might have a vga-ish type port on the front of it, & there's power & ethernet cables coming out from the side. it also looks like it's missing some sort of plastic cover. any ideas??

Probably some kind of wireless device - the vga lookin' hole is probably a serial port for programming.

Can you get us a brand or a shot of the far side (where you plug in cables?)
