Backstory:

THIS is the article that made me want to watch it:

http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-real-video-games-that-were-too-insane-to-release/

From the article:

Quote :
"The movie was made into a game for the Super Nintendo; a game that's historically considered less fun than playing with a small pox blanket. It was also released for the Virtual Boy, but wasn't received as well there. In fact, "Waterworld on Virtual Boy" is now how you tell a computer to fuck itself in machine language. It's the most horrible thing to ever be put inside a Virtual Boy, including Japanese robot inventors."

Between the Postman and Waterworld, if I'd to watch one, I think I'd just break the TV first. Ford Lincoln Mecury - lol.

The movie Waterworld lost so many millions of dollars that it would have been cheaper and less embarrassing if Kevin Costner spent $110,000,000 hiring crowds of people to watch him cry during sex. While he was filming Waterworld, MC Hammer was holding Oakland money eating contests that were more fiscally responsible -- and more watchable.

Postman wasn't as good IMO, but for my age at the time, I thought it was decent. Besides I didn't have HBO and all that shit, so my selection of "quality movies" was not nearly as abundant as it is now.

Even if you hate the story line of waterworld and some of the hokey scenes, You atleast have to give dennis hopper some credit, his performance was the high spot

I think both of these movies were unfairly trashed by Hollywood. Costner must have done something to piss them off.

They were a bit long, and they had some slow moments but overall they were good movies.

Wikipedia

Quote :
"The Smokers obtain many of their wares as marauders and by raiding the settlements of the featureless surface of Waterworld. Many Smokers appear to be quite sadistic and revel in murder and carnage; often their reputation precedes them.

The base of the Smokers is the rusted old carcass of an oil tanker, referred to as the Deez, which is revealed to be the Exxon Valdez in a brief shot. Although the tanker no longer has any functional engines, the Smokers still have a large supply of crude oil aboard the tanker, and apparently a small oil refinery, as they are able to refine the crude oil into gasoline and diesel fuel to power the jet skis, planes, and other machines they make use of. The Deacon also mentions refining but states that they are running out of "the black stuff" and the "go-juice" rapidly, and that they only have "two lunars" (or months) left of it. The Smokers have also hoarded large quantities of firearms, heavy artillery, ammunition, spam, paper, tobacco, cigarettes, whiskey, and "Black Death" Vodka aboard the tanker. The Smokers move the tanker by use of dozens of oars that stick out of the barnacle-encrusted hull."

Running Man is good, Avatar is good (for what it is, there's been over the top backlash against people who think it's the best movie ever and hate from people who don't like "the message")
