Given that there are so many more Dems up for re-election than GOPs it seems only natural that the Senate will go more red.

Depends on if Republicans turn out at all. If they don't turn out then the Senate races will be a lot closer than they otherwise would.

Updated for Senator Akaka. And, WRT that, I could see either recently-term-limited-former Governor Linda Lingle (R) run for that seat, as well as her former LT. Governor (who lost to Neil "I-know-where-Obama's-birth-certificate-is--oh-wait-maybe-not" Abercrombie) James "Duke" Aiona.

I doubt she'd waste her time, with Obama on the ballot. They couldn't even win Hawaii in 2010.

Supreme Court for WI.....was suppose to be a landslide for the GOP, he might still win....if Dem wins court turns liberal 4-3......might overturn the collective bargaining deal just passed....She was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead and now he took the lead.

Senator Tom Coburn may end up in jail, so there's another possible repug opening.

Quote :
"If the Senate Ethics Committee's report on the ethics scandals of former Sen. John Ensign were a movie, the Nevada Republican would no doubt be the star -- but Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) would get second billing.

Coburn's role as an intermediary between his friend and former roommate Ensign and Doug Hampton, the husband of the woman Ensign was having an affair with, has been pretty well established. Coburn has denied playing the role of negotiator over the amount of money Ensign should pay the Hamptons.

But other people involved told investigators say Coburn, whose name is mentioned 46 times in the Ethics Committee's report, played a pretty crucial role. And the report indicates that Coburn might not have given investigators the whole story.

Republicans will definitely pick up a few seats this year, it's just a matter of how many.

But I think 2014 will really be their year because the Dems won't have Obama on the ticket so they won't get the droves of black voters that carried the 2008 class into power.

Smart move. Perdue was going to go down in flames - now she doesn't have to worry about public perception the rest of the time, and I'm guessing the democrats will start to rally behind Miller for governor.

Really disappointed that he didn't primary Price, though. I don't like Miller at all, but I would have helped him campaign if it meant David Price no longer had a seat in Congress.

Good! Thank you Perdue for stepping down. Now maybe someone can step up and keep McCrory from winning.
