looks like some folks need to do a little more research on Judaism and Christianity....Jesus was a Jew, not a Christian and I can't find anything biblical about celebrating Christmas or Easter....they are 100% pagan and people try to make t...hem a Christian holiday. we should celebrate Passover as did our Savior...not Easter. And well what's the point in celebrating Christmas when it's not the birthday of Christ and everything from the tree to the mistletoe has been birthed from paganism. If you want PURITY in religion then we should follow what the Messiah did and trust me you will never read a biblical account of Him celebrating v-day, Christmas or Easter. And for anyone who may think the "Old Testament" is not relevant for today...think again.....what do you think Jesus taught out of and what do you think he followed? As I read, Jesus said he didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law and as far as His birth is concerned it could have been anytime from March to October, but most likely not in December. It's not anything to argue over but I hav...e done some pretty in depth study and have found these celebrations not appropriate for my family. Yes you are right Jesus preached love but without a respectful fear of God and knowing the eternal consequences of not serving Him, some people may would never have come to love Him. We can have the same core beliefs and have differences in some areas without demeaning one anothers beliefs and still loving Jesus the same, still be just as "saved" and still living for Him....that's what's important. Those who claim to be His children should display love, peace and reflect the very face of Christ. I am by no means a scholar or anywhere near knowing everything, but I have read my Bible, I have received grace and mercy.....unmeasurable forgiveness and for these things I am most thankful. I will continue to read His word.....beginning to end and search out knowledge and wisdom and pray that His Spirit will guide my walk and my speech and that He will be my influence no matter what any man may say.See More

Allyson Manor and that's the very reason I rarely attend church anymore because I would rather the Holy Spirit influence me than man....there are gifted men and women of God appointed to be pastors and teachers full of His wisdom and knowledge but because I have had so many questions about the truth of what I have been taught in church, I have prayed that His Spirit show me the one and only truth because even the best of the best in churches can misguide people........

People generally don't celebrate holidays created after their death to honor them. Much less holidays created 500 years after their death to honor someone else.

Lets dump everything we know about religion in here, Facebook; technical, political, financial, everything is welcome. This in my new industry, I am investing all my money and time and I need your help. I've been taking classes in this for a while now and will be doing much more in the near future culminating in a new business venture to begin within a year. I have just broken my arm so I have lots of down time and can't really study that hard because of the meds, so lets just chat it up for the next few days. I especially hope to hear from all of the encouraging, helpful people from whom I've been receiving PM's. Lets get it all out there and discuss it, maybe even get some google docs going.
