I thought I read something about that place getting raided because it was a drug front.

It would not surprise me at all if that restaurant is a front. I've known so many people that have gone there and walked back out because no one ever appeared to serve them

Funny story...
I came out of MV one night and there was about 8 black guys in the parking lot (pretty evenly spaced out) screaming at each other in a language I did not understand, and about 25-30 other people standing around watching the situation. I quickly got my awkward white ass out of there.

Sounds like you walked right into the middle of an amateur production of Stomp the Yard.

Hahah went there last night. We were the only ones in there. They served the guineas in a bottle no glass. It was fun nonetheless. It's always like that when I go there

im surprised it's even still there.

NCSU students and campus-area locals just aren't capable of sustaining any decent restaurants.

Seriously, though, how does this place stay in business? It's always empty.

I went there and because I don't like spicy food I ordered a simple rice dish.

Swear to god, all jokes aside, they came back and said they were out of rice and that I had to pick something else....

They're still open. I eat there every now and then. Lunch buffet good for $10. Excellent for anyone who doesn't eat meat and or dairy.

^ I know so many restaurants like this. The reality is that many of them will go out of business, they're just on some lifeline and loosing money. In the bigger picture, restaurants are possibly the most over-invested sector of our economy. The margins are not very good, but the barrier to entry is reasonable for many common affluent people, so they make the mistake of putting their money where it's easy to get into, versus into where makes them money and is sustainable.

is this just an assumption you are making, or do you have anything to back that assertion up. Because it sounds like some made up shit.

Abyssinia sucks. shitty food and TERRIBLE service. took over an hour and a half to get food that looked like a dog puked on a sourdough pancake. I'm all about exotic/ethnic foods but this place is terrible.

So, ncsuallday when you say ethnic food are you including Taco Bell in that equation?
