On the plus side the tingle I get from Blu-star ointment and Goldbond medicated powder is rather soothing with a fan blowing on my balls.

No. You're not getting it often enough.

Keep your crotch drier, or maybe use some sort of anti-fungal soap.

Also: Gross.

For most people, jock itch is the equivalent of an external yeast infection. However, if you have a problem with getting jock itch often, it COULD be a fungal infection. Most people that shower regularly don't have a lot to deal with unless it is fungal or they have an issue with being overwieght, as the other common cause is skin irritation due to skin friction.

It's basically a generic term for the skin in the folds of your body (normally lower body, hence the name) getting irritated.

Jock itch is tinea cruris...a fungal infection, and yes, it's analogous to athlete's foot...just around your balls. I guess you could call intermittent itching "jock itch", but the real McCoy is a chronic, persistent itch, with what looks like a rash and flaking or peeling skin.

If you really want to get rid of it, you need to apply a topical antifungal twice a day for at least two weeks. Use something like Tinactin (tolnaftate), Micatin (miconazole), or Lotrimin (clotrimazole).

Clean and dry is where it's at...if you have a problem with hot, sweaty nutsack, then you're MUCH more apt to get it and keep it.

Nut cheese. Lovely.

Shit is terrible. Might be time to visit a dermatologist if you can't get rid of it with the creams.
