I'll admit Radiohead has a few really really good songs, but the vast majority of their library of music is a bunch of nonsensical sounds that amount to complete rubbish.

^^^ so if you've got "everything in its right place" and enjoy it

explain to me which radiohead songs are a bunch of nonsensical noises

because that track is a keyboard loop and a vocal that's chopped all to hell, and despite being a good song, it really only serves to set the mood for what's to come on the balance of kid a after a guitar-heavy record and three years of waiting

i don't understand people who just pull tracks off records and are content with that

why was Pablo Honey so retarded and then they made a huge progression with The Bends, and an even bigger one with OK Computer

I don't think I'll ever understand..

I strongly, strongly disagree with that. They only have a handful of songs over the course of their entire career (when referring to their full lengths) that I might even concede are mainly "noises". And even then you can't bash those tracks individually as they aren't meant to stand on their own but serve their purpose in their spot on the album.

first, theyre definitely a band who works a LOT better when listening to their albums instead of individual songs. Second, you're missing a lot of my favorite Radiohead songs and included the worst song off of In Rainbows out of the 2 IR songs you have.

I'd recommend albums though instead of individual songs. If you are someone who doesn't like their more "abstract" side, then you should listen to OK Computer and In Rainbows all the way through as they are both very focused albums without a lot of "nonsensical sounds"

just name a few...

Myxomatosis
Packt Like Sardines...
Hunting Bears
Sit Down. Stand Up
Backdrifts
Treefingers

Before you guys go apeshit on me, I'm not saying they are a bad band by any means. I wouldn't have bought those songs I listed if I didn't like them. I really like all those songs I listed, A LOT. I just haven't found any others that sounded good enough to buy, but if I do I will definitely get them.

I guess we just hear stuff differently.

Regardless of where they stand in my ranking of Radiohead songs, I definitely can't see any reason why Myxomatosis, Packt Like Sardines..., Backdrifts, of Sit Down Stand Up could be considered "nonsensical noises" at all. (I really like both Sit Down Stand Up and Myxomatosis. Esp SDSU).

Treefingers and Hunting Bears are instrumental transition tracks. Of course they don't sound good on their own. They only work in the context of the album. (Though I will admit Hunting Bears is weak, it's certainly not indicative of Radiohead as a whole in any way at all).

Overall out of the ones you listed, 3 are from HTTT and 2 are from Amnesiac. Both of those albums are probably the two weakest Radiohead albums (ignoring Pablo Honey) and 2 of their hardest albums to "get into". In other words, disliking those songs certainly doesn't mean you won't enjoy their other, better albums.

If you haven't actually tried to listen to Radiohead from a full album perspective, I recommend OK Computer, In Rainbows, Kid A, and The Bends. Kid A is a little less accessible (though extremely awesome). The other 3 are all pretty accessible and are great.

Karma Police is a good song never heard any of their other shit, but since that was the only song i could find on kazaa i've decided that they were a band that was only interested in making 1 or 2 good songs every album. Guess i was right

To be fair they're not entirely nonsense, they just don't mesh well IMO. I will say that my respect for them has grown today after hearing some more of these songs that some of you have posted. I just bought a few new ones actually.

I think Radiohead is an acquired taste...it certainly took me awhile before I gained an appreciation for them. They've been one of my favorites for a long time.

Generally, at least for me, 'The Bends' was the easiest album to get into considering it probably has the more 'catchier' songs along with OK Computer.

When I first heard 'In Rainbows' I hated it, but after a few listens, it became one of my favorites.

Those 3 probably get the most play on my ipod. I know alot of people swear by Kid A....while I like Kid A, I don't like it as much as most diehard fans

as I said on FB, I can never understand a god damn word that Thom Yorke sings except for "creep" and "from a great height"... I like their music, but I need a fucking lyric sheet to know what the fuck he is saying. Probably why their albums always have to grow on me a bit, first few times I hear them its just some great music with mumbling going on at the same time.

But I'm not particularly a Radiohead fan anyway.
