ok, maybe i wasnt clear with my previous post, i should have said i did not know that you could be pro in one sport and still amateur in another...

and sure, i would expect him to play for free. with the exception of course for food and a place to live...maybe a monthly supplement to prevent him from having to get a job.

Only an owner or GM is going to be offering any contracts, not a minor league owner. And the team would have to select the guy in the first-year player draft. And then Bud Selig would beat the shit out of everyone involved.

I guess it could happen with an independent league, but it would be a shitty contract and the most transparent violation of all time.
