any decent places in the raleigh area that do a wash/quick detail by hand? my car is too low for the automatic places like bunkeys/auto bell and i'm too lazy to do it myself.

this is your best option: message_topic.aspx?topic=587439&page=2#14580802

if you go to a local handwash place, you'll just be paying some pissed off teenager to do a half-assed job while scratching your clear coat to hell.

Of course I am biased, however taking away the fact that I try to make money by doing this, taking your car to the automatic or any other large volume hand wash station is one of the worst things you can do. Its only slightly better than just leaving it filthy for eternity. Greasy tire shines, undertrained staff, poor wash practices and terrible quality control. Its one of those "you get what you pay for" type of things. There is a reason Bunky's charges $20 for a wash/vac when I charge $35+

If you want something done in your area and I cant get to it, you can also try Going Green Mobile Detailing and Details by D-Bach. Going Green uses my same level of quality and products, but is more expensive and harder to schedule (he gets my customers that I can take care of right away) and D-Bach is just flat out stick-it-to-you expensive, but he does fantastic work.

North Ridge Auto Spa has a hand wash package for $32. I have never had my car handwashed their because I just have them run it through their machine, I have also had my interior detailed once before. I can say that for the things I have had done their they do an exceptional job...way better than one of those autobell joints.

i'm well aware of the "dangers" here. i didn't ask for an education, i asked for car wash locations. i don't care about a few more fine scratches or swirls in the clearcoat, it's already covered in them as well as several other imperfections and damaged areas. i just want a cheap basic wash and interior cleaning, nothing more. perfect paint is not high on my list of priorities.
