Both spellings are correct alternates. The letter in the 7th place can either be an 'n' or a 'p'.

It is cool in the sense how damn easy it is to remember the correct spelling of it as it can be broken down into several commonly known roots. I read it once some 20 years ago and still remember it, even though I 'use' it (as in this thread) once every few years. Also cool in the sense how relatively easy it is to [almost] figure out its meaning from all it pieces.
