^^^^I used to work for a bank and we were taught not to chase or interfere w/ any kind of violence (mainly robbery) because the bank would be held liable. basically don't be heroic and chase after a robber for example because if someone gets hurt who is a bystander (or the criminal himself) can sue for damages...

Also, I wish more people knew that there is a line that you verbally cross where it has to get physical. Some things require a physical response. I think I've discussed this before, but anyway...all this non-violence stuff that we're on about is just teaching people that they can get all puffed up and run their mouths without getting hit.
