It just sucks what they've done with the franchise. Call of Duty is still possibly the best WW2 single player experience of all time, and Modern Warfare was damn good. They just haven't done anything new since then. The biggest problem is that most console players don't know that they're being duped, so they don't demand progress.



While they aren't shitting themselves as some would claim, I think the CoD team is going to lose a lot of marketshare/playerbase to BF3; with good reason.

I'll miss commando but otherwise thank god. I have no problem with shotguns being that strong but since thats the case they can't be secondary. Its ridiculous in MW2 where a sniper is running around then switches from a sniper rifle to akimbo shotguns cause you were smart and closed ground on him only to get blown away without him aiming.

^ In general I like killstreaks, I like the idea of being rewarded for being good or smart unlike a lot of games where its chance or just waiting for weapon respawns or even worse the game is weighted to help the down team/player but this kinda ruins it if you can get super powerful shit without penalty for dying.

the lack of killstreak penalty for dying will help the game tremendously, because it will encourage run and gunners to succeed instead of campers. This is exactly what the game has needed for a long time. It's not really a killstreak reward, it's a carnage reward.

I see it a different way, A lot of people will still camp but use the assault and specialist killstreaks. The people who don't do this will use the non reset killstreaks and get killstreaks. That means a lot more people on the map have killstreaks. Combine killstreaks all over with the fact that they got rid of the commando/lightweight/marathon super stabber, reduced the paths/hotzones on the maps and you create less ways to avoid and move around the map means people just pack it in more to avoid killstreaks and wait for people to walk into traps.

Anyway its all speculation until its played. I doubt they were thinking that MW2 would be so stab happy when they were planning it, emergent gameplay and tactics is a neat thing to follow if nothing else.

Talked myself into getting the hardened edition, never want to pay 100 out the gate just in case the game sucks. I never really like black ops as much MW2, but I kept playing black ops figure more of the same with MW3. Plus it comes with elite and map packs.
