Glossy or non-glossy is fine, and I believe the machine will take pretty much anything from WXGA to WSXGA+. Minor scuffs/etc are okay, its a cheapo laptop I'm repairing for a friend and its not worth ordering something new off eBay.

It will have to be something off of ebay. Damn near all laptop LCD panels have their own proprietary connections and mountings within the casing itself. Even different revision of laptops can have incompatibilities between panels.

^True in some cases, not in others. Pretty much every 15.4" panel I've come across has the same connector, believe it or not. IBM and Apple machines are bitchy about what they accept, but with a Dell like this one it'll generally use whatever happily (probably because they source their displays from so many places) . . . . I've transplanted screens from a good dozen brands of laptop into this same model and never had an issue.
