^That's a fair justification. Usually, buying merch and attending shows is a more effective way of directly supporting an artist financially. Not trying to guilt-trip people into going to shows, simply stating that that's just the way it is. More of that money goes directly into an artist or band's pocket than when you buy a CD at a retail place (even an independent store like Schoolkids).
