I would shy away from either of those two...Bryan Woods especially.

Look at the ones behind White Oak, they're not nearly as ghetto.

I went to Aberly Place behind White Oak but it was way out of my price range. 1 br start at $730. I can do about $630 max.

have you looked into the ones across from wake tech on 401? they are a little south of town, but they are $636 for a 1-BR.

They usually have signs out front for move-in specials too.

If you listen to the Police Blotter for Wake Co, Bryan Woods has a lot of calls.

My great-grandmother lived in Westchester in the '80s but I would stay away from there too now.

^ No I haven't. I just checked Chandler Ridge and they don't have anything available right now. Do you know any more properties out that way?

not unless you go all the way to Fuquay or Clayton.

There are some at 40/42 behind the Cook-Out, but I don't know the name of them. They are fairly new though (<5yr) so they are probably a little on the expensive end.

I decided on an apartment today. I went with the Colonial Grand at Trinity by the RBC Center. They in the medical office area beside the bell south building. They gave me a good deal and it's a very nice property. Plus, it's about 1-2 miles from the 40 exit which I liked alot.

I am looking for an apartment as well, and I just checked out Pine Winds that was referenced. It has an amazing floorplan and looks to be pretty spacious at 854 sq ft. Also, as stated above, the price isn't HORRIBLE - $589 (15 month lease). I think I might end up out there but I still have tons of research to do and have to wait to see if any specials will be ran within the next month or two.

^^ I talked with Pine Winds yesterday. The only 1 bedrooms they would have available would be those in the $690-720 range within the next 2-3 weeks. They didn't have any of the $589 apartments available.

we looked at ~15 different places before we chose pine winds. we had a fallback, some terrible small apartments off of tryon (somewhere between lake wheeler and fayetteville) that were like 498/mo but were tiny. we pay less than 700 but i guess it's a little easier to swallow since there are two of us living here.

Loved Pine Winds. I lived there for 2 years. They are spacious, clean, and quiet. The management won't bother you for just about anything. Convenient location, good price, wood burning fireplaces and screened in porches. I really can't say enough about them. I mean, they aren't luxury apartments, they're old and basic, and neighbors may be a tad sketch. But I lived there alone for 2 years without a single problem. I would have no problem moving back if I weren't in Chapel Hill! Our price was $750 for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, on the second story with vaulted ceilings.

Also LOVED Pinewinds, lived there about 6 years ago, would recommend to anyone!! Super quiet neighborhood, tons of space for the money. No parking issues, the screened in back porches are awesome as well! I think they've done some renovations as well since I was there.

My move in date is tomorrow. However, I asked if I could wait and move in on April 1 to avoid paying for the rest of March. We'll see how that goes.
