occamsrezr's mom broke her arm this evening. Now he's probably going to end up spending the entire night in the hospital with her. Anyone want to see pics of her broken arm?

I have never broken a bone. Maybe like that one in your hand when you punch something too hard or a toe or something, but never a leg or arm or anything like that.

I have twisted my ankle about 10,000 times though and sprained a knee and shoulder and shit.

Be careful saying that. I said it and the week after, I broke tons of them.

But honestly, it wasn't nearly as bad as I would have expected.

broken 3 different fingers on 5 separate occasions

Never fun but at least fingers only take about a week or two for your average simple fracture

My pinky is all gnarled up looking though and I can't straighten it all the way

I've broken a ton of bones but luckily none ever required surgery. Jaw, nose, ankle 3 times, toes, fingers, chipped the bone in my elbow. Then there's the dislocated hip injury, knee injury out of the wazoo, and stress fractures in my foot. I'm a bit accident prone

^^ When I broke my tibia and fibula the doctor set the bones by hand. He stuck my foot under the armpit of one arm and pulled as he manipulated them with his hands. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life to this day. They already had me scheduled for surgery, but he decided to give it one try. He apologized to my mom on several occasions since then, but it was probably for the better. Many more variables with anesthesia and cutting.

Severe compound fracture of the radius and the ulna. Also a dislocation of the elbow ends of the bones.

They are currently setting the elbow ends with a splint.
After that a ride to wakemed raleigh for surgery tomorrow.
