I don't understand how social services works.

I mean, there are companies who know just about everything about me for marketing purposes.

But CPS seems to know nothing. It's 2011, there's no such thing as privacy anymore...call up whatever firm sees to my parents getting perfectly tailored, unsolicited catalogues in the mail and put them to work.

better than leaving kids at home alone with live pets... we all know how that turns out with all the pets eating kids' fingers and toes in the news lately.

I feel this is a lot worse than what those charges suggest. A 16 year old who has never been to school? Well you basically destroyed his life. Who knows, he could have become a decent middle or upper-middle class professional or academic. But, now, never.

They should be charged with destroying children and their futures. That should be written into the law for such future cases. Mandatory punishment should be 20 years to life.
