So I'm stuck in a traffic delay on i40 thinking oh there's no one in the far right lane must be an accident

Then I see a lady chasing after her loose pig that's moving with the flow of traffic.

Hahaha why was there a pig, please tell me someone saw this too

"Pigs might have caused I-40 wreck

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Multiple tipsters told WRAL News that pigs were loose on Interstate 40, near where a wreck took place Wednesday morning.

The state Department of Transportation reported that a wreck happened on I-40, near the juncture with Interstate 540, shortly before 8:30 a.m.

Traffic was slowed to less than 20 mph on both sides of the interstate. Congestion was also reported along I-540.

Tipsters said that the wreck was caused by loose pigs, which were headed west on I-40. A WRAL photographer saw pigs being taken away from the area."

I guess I dodged a bullet. I got off I-40 at Airport Blvd 20 minutes before those shenanigans!

Auctioned off. There's a firm protocol for this already in place.

what kind of fines would someone get for allowing this to happen? and would they be held liable for any accidents?

the cost of losing 4-5 porkers might not be worth the trouble to reclaim them

This reminds me of a time I was driving down a highway and a flock of sheep had gotten loose. There were these cops trying to chase the sheep back through the broken fence of the field they escaped from. It was pretty comical.

Definitely a NC thing.

I was driving out near Morrisville one day and there was a calf in the middle of the road just checking out cars and people that slowed down to pass her. After a couple minutes she took off running and leaped the fence to get back into the pasture where the other cows were. I suspect she did this more than once and the farmer probably had no idea it was happening.

Driving down I-95 a while back and every mile or two I'd pass a chicken on the side of the road. They were all just walking around in the grass and looked like they were uninjured. After 30-40 miles as I started to exit onto 64 I saw a chicken truck ahead of me with chickens leaping out of the back of it. It was too late for me to merge back onto I-95 and try to alert the driver. There is no telling how many chickens leapt to freedom/death by the time that truck got to its destination.

I like the look on the cop's face in the video of the pigs.
