He had Alabama in the top 10 for a little while before Steele got hurt. Then he kicked Steele off the team next year and the AD gave him the boot.

Maybe the same thing will happen with Leslie and we'll be looking for another coach next January?!?!?!?

Steele voluntarily left the team iirc and Gottfrieds treatment of him cost him his job. Not a huge fan of be hire but I'll support him.

I debated in my mind if I would lock this thread when it was created, but in fairness, his credibility check will start almost immediately by keeping the players we have and the ones that are committed.

If he manages to do this, then you all need to get off his back until we start playing.

It's all whispers and rumors but there were articles talking about Gottfried questioning Steele's fortitude and desire despite the fact he played hurt nearly his entire career.

At the very least his resignation was under extremely odd cicumstances.
