I have no problem with a magazine ban, most guns can hold 6-9 rounds. If you can't hit what you are trying to hit in that many shots you shouldn't be shooting at all. An exception to the law could be that shooting ranges can provide magazines so you don't have to reload multiple times

I have a huge problem with it. Exactly why do they need to be banned? Why do cops use them? What if there are multiple attackers? What about high volume target shooters? Shooting competitions? There is simply no valid reason to ban them. Hell, in the latest proposal, anyone owning a 10+ capacity magazine can be sentenced for 10+ years if they can't prove that the magazine was purchased before such a ban took place. Talk about tyranny.

Magazine bans, ill named "assault weapons" bans (by the way, assault weapons bans don't ban assault weapons), etc. aren't for what some call safety. In no way are such bans effective, just look at history - once the '94 ban expired, crime dropped. Further they only serve to disarm law abiding citizens. In reality, less than 1% of crimes are committed using actual assault weapons, which are not what are tyrannical government bans via "assault weapon" bans.

You should read some of the comments about the furlough in ENC. They are talking about power being turned off in their homes, not making mortgage payments, world coming to an end, etc. it isn't like this furlough was a surprise. And, oh yea, it is ALL obamas fault. This crowd is tough.

I'm in the private sector, so I shouldn't be directly affected, but it will have a huge impact in this region.

I've had 3 good friends/coworkers lose their jobs In as many months because of this sequester. Left to wonder how they are going to put food on the table, and support their families.

There's plenty of blame to go around. It really makes you wonder who our government is working for... Because it doesn't appear to be U.S. citizens.

certainly not. and I'm supposed to be in an agency that prevents fraud, waste, and abuse. Congress has us so bogged down in red tape that all we do is waste time and can't get anything done. everyone that can retire is doing so, just to get out of the work environment. I still have 20 years to go until I'm eligible for my pension and I can't transfer agencies because of the budget freeze.

This is true.

All they really have to do is kill off or run off all the people who should have retired ten years ago. That's why the temp in all our buildings is +80°F right now and why they make us clean our own cubicle areas entirely and take out our trash and so on. The furlough is just the last nail they're willing to drive into that coffin. Should force a lot of people out. Though, thinking about it, I guess when you just sleep most of the day you don't really care what they do.

Maybe they should get even less comfortable chairs?

I have 11 days as well, down from 22, but it will still mess up benefits (leave, TSP, etc) as long as it is over 80 hours. The sad thing is we have to root for "just" 9 furlough days to keep that from happening.

everyone better vote all of these self-serving, back pocket corporate represenatives and senators out of office, or we're all (everyone, not just feds) gonna be in serious trouble
