Any tips or secrets on success? I've always LOVED Cici's pizza. For the money, they can't be beat. And the supplies are CHEAP as sit! It's damn near impossible to fail really. I could really use some tips. I hear there's a real good market for cheap and excellent pizza.

Cici's may be many things. But I don't think anyone could describe it as 'excellent pizza'

Secret to success - have money.

How much does it cost to open a CiCi's franchise?

For a Buffet franchise, the estimated initial investment ranges from $461,343 to $714,912. Of the total store cost, 30% must be in cash in order to qualify for a loan for the balance"

merbig - just a word of advice, profit margins aren't always the best incentive for running a business that you think is impossible to fail. If you don't enjoy sitting in your kitchen making pizza and legitimately enjoy the business, I wouldn't try and run a restaurant, even if it's franchised and supported by corporate. You won't put the food together the right way.

The consumer has adapted to flagging poorly run chain restaurants. Ever heard someone say, "Oh no, not THAT Cici's; let's just go to the one downtown."

holy shit half mil + to open a pizza store?

i wonder how long it takes to pay that all off? (provided you are actually profiting from this)

then again if i had a half mil laying around, can't say 'open a cici's pizza is first thing on my mind'. Now coke party and a ton of fake tittied strippers, def a great investment. Think of the return!

^ ^ ^ you think a half mil to get the license to run a franchise is steep? Ever looked at the value of buying your run-of-the-mill commercial property?

i.e. a 7-11 on a busy corner could cost you 5 mil to purchase in NC/VA

I keep my money in the bank. I've got enough. And I don't necessarily enjoy making pizza, I enjoy eating it. I hire people to make it and dish it out on a buffet table for me.

^ see then you're back to the usual quandary that a venture capitalist faces when he thinks he can get into the restaurant business without being a professional chef or a culinary background

Your chef will freakin OWN you, and you are at the mercy of the product that is put out by your people

The reason it's 30% cash, high for the loan industry for starting a business, is that restauranteering is full of incredibly common pitfalls as it's an intuitive business that people make the mistake of thinking they know.

"I can pass English class. I speak it!"

"I can run a restaurant. I love to eat!"

^^^ Dude, I'm not more at the mercy of a chef owning a Cici's pizza as I would be if I owned a McDonald's. I would hardly call the cook a "chef." But I have a feeling you aren't familiar with Cici's.

It's not like I'm trying to come up with my own recipes, or kill myself over marketing. I don't need a background in culinary. That stuff has already been done for me. Just like I don't need a culinary background to own a Subway.

but ask how many olives they cannot

Your workers will fuck you, and if you aren't a savant at putting appetizing creations together, you won't be effective, and the customer will know it.

let's be real it doesn't take much thought to cook a pizza i've done it drunk many times, as it also doesn't take much to taste a piece of pizza that your chef makes and decide whether it's shit or not. if I opened a Cici's you can bet ur ass it would be living up to some high pizza standards

http://www.sptimes.com/2002/10/23/Business/Chicken_with_a_consci.shtml

Except for a couple hundred licensed stores in airports and on college campuses, Chick-fil-A owns its restaurants. Each one is run by a separate operator who shares the profits, but not the equity, with the chain. Operators like Gus Mir, who runs a store in Lakeland, put up a refundable $5,000 investment and are guaranteed a minimum income of $30,000 per year. The chain takes 15 percent of the gross revenue and half the profit. The average operator of a mall store earns roughly $70,000 a year, Dan Cathy said, while operators of stand-alone restaurants typically earn double that.

You realize you posted a 10,000x10,000 picture in the desktop forum that you resized purposely to cause stretching, yet you're calling me the douche.

You went into a classified section and posted:

Quote :
"and people wonder why this site has gone to shit "

For really no fucking reason.

You have anger issues, and I hope you don't go around beating your "wife." If you get this pissed off over someone calling you a fucking Vulcan on a message board, you have issues. I'd hate to see the day your "wife" denies you sex because she's tired and you go ape shit on her because you had a rough day at work.

You went ape shit over m52ncsu calling you a few names. You even threatened to sue him over "slander," which you later corrected to "libel."

It's a shame m52ncsu was suspended over that bullshittery.

All of this because BigHitSunday made an amusing comment in Classifieds and you got butthurt by it. Grow up.

Do you listen to yourself when you think/type? You're an idiot. No one takes you seriously. You're a bit of waste of life. I guess I had a little too much to drink to let you get to me. Trust me, nothing you say or do on tww bothers me. It's actually amusing you go out of your way to try and insult me.

Seems to me you are the one getting mad about posts on here, as you request an old thread to be revived. 7 months ago, wow, that was a long time ago. Unlike you, guess I've grown up a bit

So what I said did get to you... And your repeated use of the word "douche" seems to indicate that I did get to you. But I'm glad your vocubulary has evolved past that of a high school drop out.

Seems like you're trying to go out of your way to insult me. You could have just "let it go." You could have realized that your little comment in Classifieds was unwarrented. Glad to see you took the high road.

I only remember that thread because it was fucking hilarious. I literally remember spitting on my screen after seeing the pictures of you and seeing how mad you got. You raged pretty hard, just like you are now.

You never did tell me why you removed the pictures of yourself... If you didn't get mad, then why remove the pictures?
