Just bought a tall boy of the "southern style roadhouse tea" at la tienda hispana


tastes like lemonade with an aftertaste of King Cobra, way too lemony, I'm not really impressed.

will report back later if I snag one of the spiked colas

I drank a bunch Cuba Libres when I was in Costa Rica (was cheaper than beer) so my expectations are a little higher for the cola

I can't explain the emergence of these Jeremiah Weed mixed drinks or whatever the hell they are, but their whiskey is, as far as I know, mostly consumed by USAF fighter pilots (and to a lesser extent, other fighter and attack aviators). I don't know for sure how the tradition got started, but it is pretty deeply rooted. I heard a story about how a pilot (or maybe a pilot and his WSO/RIO) had to eject, landed out by some crappy bar in BFE, and got served some shots of Weed while they were waiting to be picked up. I don't know if that's true or not.

For real, though, if you go into the squadron bar in an AF fighter squadron, they will have Jeremiah Weed.

Having bar tended at a USAF fighter pilot base I can confirm that Jeremiah Weed is awful and that most all of the fighter pilots that drink it are douchey losers who think they are better than society because they fly a fighter plane, but in reality they are some of the biggest pussies and losers in the armed forces (most, not all of them)

I've had the Jeremiah Weed Sweet tea and I feel like its on par with the North Carolina Sweet Tea but not as good as Firefly
