I'm trying to eject the CDs from an Alpine CHM-S630 CD Changer, but it gets power through the cable to the head unit and I do not have a head unit to attach it to. Anyone have an Alpine CD changer in their car that would be willing to let me plug the cable up to mine, hit the eject button, and then hook the cable back to yours? It should only take a couple of minutes and require no tools.

You can probably find the pin out online and run 12v and gnd to it without needing all that noise. 4/22/2011 6:45:01 AM |

I considered that option. Found the pinout online, but it's very tight. I don't know if they make alligator clips small enough and I definitely can't hold the wires in place. I'd prefer not to start soldering wires on. If I could get a spare 8 pin DIN cable to splice into it would make it pretty simple. I need the female side of one of these:

The back of your box, it takes male or it takes female?
If it takes male, just get some solid 20gauge wire and plug into the proper holes 4/22/2011 5:27:15 PM |

It's got a little pigtail coming out that is about 4" long and has a male connector at the end. I could always splice into that, but I'd rather not cut the wire if I can avoid it. 4/22/2011 6:04:48 PM |
