It's weird. It's really easy to make a list of things you want to do before you die...where death is years off.

But if you have to make a list of things to do in a short period before you die, then it becomes impossible. How can you prioritize one ridiculous earthly goal over another? Which set of pyramids do you visit? Which sea do you swim in? Which rainforest do you explore?

So you forget all that nonsense and opt to spend time with the people you love. But what do you do with them? Are you going to be in a lot of pain and discomfort?

It shouldn't matter to you...you're going to be dead soon anyway. You could climb the tallest mountain and die at the top or get drunk on boxed wine with your dog while you watch reruns of the New Adventures of Old Christine...who cares? Of course, the people who have to live on would care so the answer is easy...

I would spend my remaining days anticipating what everyone else wants to do and then doing it. And then I'd reveal what a pain in the ass they've all been and how much I resent my final days on Earth. And then I'd cry and apologize and insist I was being selfish and bratty. And then I'd die.

If anything about my life was terrible enough to drop it upon notice of imminent death I shouldn't be doing it anyway right? And death ain't no reason to slack off from your responsibilities until your heart actually stops, right?

So basically I'd do what I do now just harder. And deeper. And girthier where appropriate.

Depends on how I would die. Would I be riddled with disease? Or would it be like an asteroid collision?

I'd probably spend it with in an embrace with the woman I love as we watch the impending doom ball crash into us like the scene from Terminator 2 where out flesh rips from our bones. Civilizations would find our fossilized skeletons millions of years later still embracing each other and study our culture as one of peace and love. Ironic, I know.

I'd just spend time with friends and family and enjoy it while I can. And even then, only a handful of friends... the kind of friends that you can just shut the fuck up around and still be content to enjoy the company. I went through a health scare, and I found that I was at peace the most when i had friends who just wanted to sit on the fucking couch and watch TV, with me.

Its somewhat depressing that I know precisely what I would do; but there was a chance that I was going to get this type of news from the Dr.
