according to google shopper I'm seeing prices ranging from 650 to 899. I'm putting it on CL for 500 later today, but I know the tdub lowball, so I'm accepting offers as well. If I can get 300 from a tdubber then I'd be cool with that.

That means nothing. Just because some scammer is selling it for $900 doesn't mean yours is worth 500, or even 300.

Your problem here is that currently ~$500 notebooks are coming with i3 and i5 processors, windows 7, more (and faster) RAM, a [way] faster hard drive and a perhaps most importantly, a factory warranty.

While your point is very valid, the dual core processor was probably not a Core 2 Duo...but obviously that's for a brand new laptop with *some* newer technology and a factory warranty, versus this.

Granted I don't know as much about computers as most people on this site, it's my understanding that I can get a new laptop with similar and/or better processor speed, memory, and hard drive space for around / less than $500. While all the specs may not be directly comparable, I'll personally take a new machine over a used any day.

That being said, my offer of $150 stands.

I think the only way he'll get anything decent for it is to market it as a gaming laptop...that is what it was when it came out right? doesn't it have a dedicated video card with 256mb memory?
