I toured University of Washington's campus when thinking about grad school there. When I told the woman I was meeting with State provides free bus service to students she literally went . Gotta pay for that shit in Seattle.

I realize this thread is a troll thread...hear me out, because I love nc state.

I believe ECU has some sort of engineering program that started up 6 years ago or so. I knew a kid going in to it from my high school.

I think we have a pretty damn good deal with parking. I've talked with VT, PSU, and OU grads and our program came out on top. Granted we didn't beat smaller schools like Louisiana Tech, but, that's how we do.

A lot of our programs are incredibly open ended and allow for ingenuity and innovation. I was able to do a liquid body armor project and had a few opportunities to make it a multi-discipline project, and was urged to go through with the engineers entrepernurship (holy fuck spelling) program with it. Didn't feel like it though . A friend of mine did an award and grant winning trap grease to biofuel project, and then you get the shit storm of cool stuff with Aero senior designs.

Other schools force their seniors to take very, very traditional and boring senior projects and make you just another product on the engineering degree factory assembly line (Penn state, VT).

I feel our engineering school at least allows an individual to be very creative and allow every student to make of their education exactly what they want.

Yeah just to reclarify this is nothing against the academics of the school which is whats most important. Good academics. Problem is, there are tons of schools with better academics and awesome campus life.

1 - agreed. Sorry, I cannot help you; but that's more systemic for America on the whole so don't think it stops at NCSU
2 - don't know much about it
3 - You will come to love them. Note that some of them have textured swirls and unique weathering. I have come to love some of these bricks as I appreciated their differences in comparative values and purposes. The donor went for higher dollar bricks at times for bigger tax write-offs. Hence at one point we had the "brick pyramid" lol
4 - shithole housing projects
5 - I wouldn't say spliced. I would say it's a barrier that serves a good purpose. For me, it was a landmark of mental division between the work side and the residential side. Think of it as the work/play divider. It will make you happier.
6 - you need to get out more
7 - yeah
8 - stay away, will make you fat
9 - stay away, will make you fat

So basically what I am saying is you need to get a campus job and move off-campus but close, more like rent a townhouse somewhere close to campus and be within walking distance. Also, finding a chick to bwn will make your day better. All the things you listed are the biggest most terrible things, so at least you've identified them. It only gets up from there.

State chicks are so ugly on average that the hot ones are despicable. Other notable schools have not only higher ratios but higher dime:thyme ratios. Also the fact that state girls usually come from rural NC and are pigfed has a lot to do with that. UNC is in a whole different league.

I agree with you that State chicks are on average uglier than most schools.

However, it was pretty much by senior year that the ratios even out because males are more likely to be flunkies at State.

Basically State to me was like a huge community college / high school until about senior year. The retention rate is so low that you don't really get the quality until about during your last year. The females are more numerous (relatively) by then.

Is it worth sticking it out? I don't know, but I do know that Nova / Lynn / MDC even crushes State in terms of quality of girls, but who knows.
Girls are the anathema to having large amounts of money and focusing on school. And I don't sound like an old man speaking wisdom because I used a big word.

NC State is really no different than any other campus. Pretty much every campus has brand new high tech metal and glass buildings mixed in with the 100+ year old brick/stone/marble buildings. The old part of our campus is pretty nice looking.
