no they can be drawn in any order

once I hit the first 4 numbers they drew, it was 1 in 35 for me to win the jackpot when I was waiting for the last ball (but they drew the 32 instead of my 27)

Not sure what you mean here. There are 39 balls. They draw 5 and you can hit them in any order. I had all 4 of the first 4 balls drawn. That means there were 35 different balls left, of which my 27 was one. So at the time immediately before the 5th ball was drawn, I was 1 in 35 to hit the jackpot.

For that one ball, yes, but your odds of hitting the jackpot, from the beginning, were still one out a few million.

your odds of getting heads on a coin are 1/2, every time, but you're not likely to get heads 10 times in a row. you have to consider the whole scenario here.

i can't really explain better than that because combinatorics is hard
