I'm ready for a new scent, but I haven't bought perfume in a long time. Do any of you ladies have a suggestion? Something you've purchased recently and enjoyed? My staple has been Body Shop "White Musk", but it's time to move on to something different.

I know everyone's tastes are different, so here's what I like:
- vanilla (and similar)
- musky smells
- "warm" fruity scents (anything that smells like it would be represented by warm colors, like maroon or orange or purple)
- scents that don't smell 'perfumy'; if it's too classic, I usually don't like it.
- nothing too fruity (think Bath and Body Works...)

Some of the samples I've tried and liked:
- "Taj Sunset" by Escada (citrus-ish but not obnoxious)
- "Poppy" by Coach (bright and fruity)
- "Pure" by DKNY (vanilla, rose)

Some I haven't liked as much:
- "Euphoria" by Calvin Klein
- "Light Blue" by Dolce & Gabbana

Love Chloe (my fav when I'm not wearing my flowery Jasmal or Diorisimo)

Flowerbomb (though it has flower in the name its not in the least "girly" or floraly...the patchouli scent has a little musk to it)

As someone that cringes every time I walk by bath and body works, the scent "flowerbomb" both infuriates and scares me.

yea really...about that!

Oh and here's my scents I mentioned:

Love Chloe - the notes include orange blossom, pink pepper, iris absolute, lilac, hyacinth, wisteria blossom, heliotropine, powdery musks, talc and rice powder.

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf - has notes of tea, bergamot, sambac jasmine, orange tree, catleya orchid, freesia, rose, and amber, musk, and patchouli. It starts with lots of sugar candy and a bit of citrus, and dries down to a sweet, slightly vanillic dessert of amber and patchouli. It is very smooth and creamy, with no hard edges.

Nina by Nina Ricci is one of my favorites. Another good one is Dreaming by Tommy Hilfiger. They are both really clean smelling.

Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille is an amazing smoky, musky vanilla.

Quote :
"A rich, smoky Oriental vanilla fragrance made with black vanilla absolute, licorice, bitter almond paste, caramelized benzoin, beeswax, coconut milk, Tonka bean and sandalwood."

http://theperfumedcourt.com/Products/Serge-Lutens-Un-Bois-Vanille__SERGELUTENSUNBOISVANILLEpg.aspx

I like perfume oils more than EDP though. [Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab has some amazing vanillas. http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/ I like Snake Oil, Vixen, and Hollywood Babylon are all great musky vanillas.

As a guy, I vote for anything by Escada. I don't know what it is about that perfume, but when I smell it, I want to jump some bones.

Slightly OT, but I really want to try this place.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147351-d1603460-Reviews-Tijon_Parfumerie_Boutique-Grand_Case_St_Maarten_St_Martin.html

About the only thing I can consistently wear without getting a headache is Clinique Aromatics. So the custom thing might be a waste of time. But it sounds fun anyway!

but i really need to find a place i can get it on the cheap b/c i dropped more than i should have on it :/

but yea i sprayed some on my pillow so i can huff it all night. am i the only person that does weird stuff like that? idc i'm not gonna stop
