Anyone else notice a drop in performance, or at least an increase in bugginess, for your android phone? I've had my motorola X since 09/10 and it is beginning to consistently piss me off. I've dropped it pretty hard a few times, I suppose I can't complain about the build quality, but the software seems to bug out and lock up with increasing frequency. I might have a lemon or I might have done it myself with shock damage, but does.anyone else share my frustration? 5/14/2011 3:32:25 AM |

Honestly I have to say my Droid X is just as old as yours and I have no problems with it besides the slight lag when I first start the voice command prompt and that has been there since day 1. 5/14/2011 12:37:22 PM |

this is the reason i don't understand the android obsession. tons of free apps are cool but you get what you pay for. sucks consumers have to choose between cool or reliable (see bb , sybian, etc.) 5/14/2011 2:12:36 PM |

I've had the opposite effect. The software has been getting consistently faster for me via updates. My handset and tablet aren't on the netflix bandwagon yet, though, and that's annoying... 5/14/2011 3:47:05 PM |

me too, firmware keeps getting faster... FWIW if your Android device slows down it's probably because those 200 apps you installed that you don't use are probably reducing the amount of free internal memory the OS needs to run smoothly. it's why early Android devices can experience slowdowns (smaller internal memory) and why newer Android devices don't have the same slowdown.
keep your apps to a minimum and keep your OS up to date... my OG Droid is faster than the day i got it. 5/14/2011 3:50:20 PM |

Over all my of Droid is faster than when i got it... BUT... I notice degradation over time from when I first install a rom. I've been a loyal bugless beast user, and am currently running Pete's GPA 14... gonna switch to gpa15 tonight. 5/14/2011 5:15:31 PM |

My shit starts grinding to a halt sometimes, and i did notice it get worse over time, probably excessive poorly written apps hogging cycles in the background. It just means time for a backup and a new custom rom. 5/14/2011 9:31:12 PM |
