i got a tshirt in my gift bag at a conference i went to recently. i would actually wear the shirt because it is related to my work. i had an L but needed an M, so i went looking around and asking people if they wanted to trade. i saw a girl who was slightly bigger than me and asked her what she had. she said she had an M so i said "great - i'll trade you my L" to which she replied "actually i'm looking for S." i seriously hesitated and just stared at her and said "really?!" luckily my coworker grabbed me off to some other distraction fairly quickly. i am seriously rude.

XL shirts suck. They're designed for medium height stocky people. At least that's the only type of person they fit perfectly.

I know we usually order 25% Medium, 25% Large, and 50% XL

If we do order S or XXL it's only like 10 total. Those sizes would sit around in the office for years. All the extra golf shirts we have are like women's smalls and men's XXL

Its the same reason that XL and larger are usually what you find on the clearance rack. The average person is probably a medium or large, so those are this sizes that sell out the quickest.

The people doing the t-shirt giveaway probably either got a really good deal on shirts that are too big to sell quickly or they got some leftovers that couldn't sell from whoever donated the shirts.

Well my thing is a little different since it's a golf tournament that brings in "celebrities" (if you'd call them that). So they're not usually the smallest people in the world. And it's usually men, and like 5 women golfers. I guess I'd increase the large percentage to like 30 or 40% though.

But still its rare that we order S.

The shirts we do give away are leftovers (like was mentioned) so they're all those random HUGE sizes. I have a couple big shirts that I like to sleep in white trash style
