Personally I think this whole case is a waste of resources.

Two people gave him money, the feds are saying it was a campaign donation, Edwards is saying it was a gift. One of the contributors is dead, the other one Edwards personally visited recently so she is probably in his corner.

He was already fried by the press, his transgressions are not worth spending anywhere near the resources that are being invested in a criminal probe.

I'm a Democrat and I'm happy to see this asshole in jail. I never liked him, even if he did go here and even if my uncle worked with him at his law firm for a time. He was always an asshole.

Campaign finance law is as it stands. He broke the law. He pays the price. No one should be above it.
