Okay, few things up for sale, mostly server related. First up:
#1: Dell 24U Fully Enclosed 19" Server Rack: $200
This is a great little rack in great shape, for all your 19" rackmount needs. Rolls on heavy duty casters and has doors on both ends (a double-door on the back form easier access). Everything, including the side panels, have locks and the keys are included. Someone asked me about finding something exactly like this a while back but I forget who, so hopefully they see the thread, heh.
#2: Apple Xserve 1U Rackmount Servers: $100 Each
I have a bunch of these, 20+ (discounts for bulk purchases of course). With dual gigabit LAN and plenty of HD slots they make awesome little web and content servers, and are a nice chance to have some fun with OS X Server on the hardware it was meant for. Excellent working and cosmetic shape with a few scuffs from rack insertion and removal. Gotta hand it to Apple, even their server hardware looks like it belongs in an upscale coffee shop . . . all shiny and polished aluminum! No HDs included, toss one in and you're good to go.
Specs:
- Dual 1 GHz PowerPC 7455 CPUs, 2MB Cache Each
- 1GB Ram (2x 512MB Modules, 2x Slots Open)
- 133 MHz System Bus
- Radeon 8500 AGP Video Card Option Installed (Nice if you want to use it as a workstation as well as server)
- 4x Hot-Swap Hard Drive Bays, 1x Tray and 3x Blanks included
- 24x CD-ROM Drive
- 2 full-length 64-bit/66 MHz PCI slots
- 1 half-length combination PCI/4x AGP slot
- Three 400 Mbps FireWire ports (two on back, one on front)
- two 12 Mbps USB ports
- Dual 10/100/1000Base-T ethernet
- size (HxWxD): 1.73" x 19" x 28"
- weight: 26.0 lbs. (11.8 kg)
#3: Dukane ImagePro 8800 3 LCD Video Projector: $100
Not the newest or greatest obviously, but works great and the specifications are pretty decent. I was pleased with the brightness and picture quality, and its nice for tossing up the 360 or a football game on the living room wall.
It was a high-end projector in its day and has all the digital controls you'd expect, including motorized automatic zoom, focus, and keystone adjustments. I put a new bulb in it a while back, probably has about 2-300 or so hours total (can't find the bulb life in the menus now). Since its good for 2k hours there ought to be plenty of time left either way.
Specs:
- Aspect Ratio 4:3 (Native) 5:4
- Brightness (ANUS EYE LOOMS): 2000 ANSI Lumens
- Contrast Ratio: 400:1
- Display Type: 1.3" Polysilicon LCD x 3
- Inputs: 2x VGA (With Passthrough Output), S-Video, RCA Component, 2x Audio (With passthrough)
- Resolution (Native / Max): XGA (1024 x 768) SXGA (1280 x 1024)
- Number of Colors: 16.7 Million Colors
- Dimensions (WxHxD) 11.4in. x 4.7in. x 13.6in.
- Weight: 13.0 lbs. (5.9 kg)
- Projection Screen Size (Diagonal): 50in. ~ 300in
- Throw Distance 7.9ft. ~ 37.5ft
- Optical Zoom 1.3x

Rack isn't going to go cheap. Ebay I'd get $400 or so, just don't feel like dealing with palletizing it. 5/29/2011 12:34:26 AM |

OS for the rackmounts?
Does it come with an OS (like a CD/DVD) or do you have to buy one? What interface is needed for the HDDs (IDE/SATA/ect)?
I am seriously interested in buying one from you. 5/29/2011 9:14:18 PM |

The Xserves are probably fun to play around with, but keep in mind they are REALLY, REALLY hobbled by their 133Mhz bus speeds. Don't expect performance monsters from them... 5/29/2011 11:33:45 PM |

I would just be playing around with one and using it for storage. 5/29/2011 11:52:56 PM |

They run OS X Server, which you can download and burn easily. They meet all the requirements for 10.5 Leopard Server (10.6 only runs on Intel machines, just like with desktop machines). The hard drives are IDE interface but there's tons of room in the caddy to fit one of those cheap SATA converter boards.
Obviously they're not performance beasts, that's why they're so cheap. If you want to run all kinds of virtualization or database stuff buy a new quad-core, heh. But for storage, firewall, or web server use these ought to be great. 5/30/2011 12:54:01 AM |
