I got this today at a vintage shirt sale and tried doing a quick google search of Mr. Wuf on steroids and got nada. The guy who was selling the shirts said the tag style looks like it could be from the late 70s or early 80s...

Any ideas?

Birmingham it was the only one

I got it for my boo I think he'll like it

I saw it and was like AHHHHHH WTF IS THIS

Sweet, thanks sawahash that makes it even better. I figured it had to be around the championship... maybe that's why they made Mr. Wuf so beastly? Like, post win?

My dad went to NCSU in the 70s. I don't know about all those muscles, but the face is definitely vintage strutting wolf Tuffy. Before they made Mr. Wuf "kid friendly."

:Samwise comes walking along and sees a Mr Wuf shirt:

Samwise: "Hey, what's this?!"
Guy Selling Shirt: "I dunno, what is it?"
Samwise: "This shirt with Mr. Wuf on steriods. How old is it?"
Guy Selling Shirt: "Hmm. It looks to be a tag style from the late 70s or early 80s"
Samwise: "Oh."
Guy Selling Shirt: "That's the only one we have."
Samwise: "OH SHIT! I'll take it. My boo will LUV it!!"
Guy Selling Shirt: "Thank you! Come again!

:samwise exits store:
:Guy Selling Shirt pulls another Mr Wuf on steroids shirt from behind the counter and places it on display:

^2

It was a vintage t-shirt show/sale. He didn't even know Mr. Wuf, and I was going to buy it anyways. The way he could pick the time frame via the tag was a) the company, b) it says "Made in U.S.A.", and c) the font they used.

Get a life, broseph.

^Nah... nothing that I can find. I even looked on the inside for one of those inspector tags just in case

PP, I thought Tuffy was Mr. Wuf? I googled and found the strutting wolf is Tuffy... whoops you learn something new every day

do you have google goggles on your phone? It's a free app, and may be helpful in this situation.

I dunno about the cleats, but those look like football pants.

Apparently some think they look like wrestling pants, too.

wrestling pants? if it was for wrestling, I'm 100% certain they would have gone with a singlet... not some WWE style pants.

They'd put those goofy looking ear protectors on his head, too, if it were wrestling

I've never heard of a vintage shirt sale before. Is it just a convention of sorts that sets up at the fairgrounds?
